Clos Bagatelle ist wohl eines der spannendsten Weingüter im ganzen Languedoc. Es wird betrieben von den Geschwistern Christine und Luc Simon. Saint Anian, das heutige St.-Chinian, wurde 826 nach Christus gegründet, ein kleines Paradies für den Anbau von Frucht. Winzer auf Clos Bagatelle gibt es seit 1623. Heute ist die Domaine rund 60 Hektar groß. Das Alter der Reben liegt zwischen 3 und 100 Jahren, der große Durchschnitt liegt bei 50 bis 60 Jahren. Die Reben wachsen auf zwei verschiedenen Terroirs. Clos Bagatelle, das sind fast durchgehend verschiedene Lehmarten mit Kalk und Galets, Donnadieu, das ist schwarzer Schiefer bei der gleichnamigen Ortschaft nordlich von St. Chinian. Das Weinmachen teilen sich die Geschwister. Und das erkennt man in den Weinen. Christine, lebensfroh, lebendig, immer in Bewegung aber mit viel Tiefgang und Komplexität, Luc – in sich und seiner Arbeit ruhend, das Land, der Boden, die Landschaft, in der er lebt, liebend.

Die Cuvée "Aux 4 Vents" ist etwas ungewöhnlich für die Region. Cabernet Franc bildet die hälfte der Cuvée. Diese Rebsorte aus dem Bordeaux-Gebiet wird im Languedoc immer besonders reif und entfaltet ihre Cassisnoten. Grenache und Mourvèdre bilden die zweite Hälfte der Cuvée um eine typische mediterrane Würze und etwas Fülle zu bringen. Das Ergebnis ist besonders rund und saftig. Ein wunderschöner Alltagswein, der eine besondere Länge und viel Finesse für den Preis besitzt. Sehr gelungen!
