Im Jahr 1993 begab sich Paul Boutinot in Südafrika auf die Suche nach einem Weinberg mit dem Potenzial, ehrliche, feine und ursprüngliche Weine herzustellen. An der False Bay in Somerset West wurde er fündig. Die in der Region vorherrschenden Südwinde helfen der Konzentration der Aromen in den Trauben, Schädlinge und Pilzkrankheiten werden zudem fast komplett abgehalten. So steht dem Anbau von Weinen nach biologisch-dynamischen Landwirtschaftsprinzipien nichts im Wege. Die Anreise zum Weingut ist wie eine Einladung zu einem James Bond Film. Neben einem atemberaubenden Blick bis zum Cape Point und außergewöhnlicher Architektur hat es auch ein hervorragendes Restaurant mit unglaublich innovativer Küche.

 

Der 2017er Circle of Life rot ist eine Cuvée aus Syrah, Merlot und Petit Verdot (eine sehr kräftige und würzige Rebsorte aus Bordeaux) mit tiefem Granatrot und betörenden Aromen von schwarzer Kirsche, Trockenpflaumen und Waldbeeren. Eine würzige Seite, etwas Lakritz und Pfeffer bringt noch mehr Komplexität. Feine, dunkle Fleischgerichte, Gänsebraten und reife Käsesorten werden in ihm einen exzellenten Partner finden! Einer unserer Lieblingsweine!
